Nicolas' House

Front Yard

The front yard to the L'Anse home is very well maintained. The grass lawn mowed short and the various plants and flowers that line the edge of the two-story house are well cared for and has a stone path that cuts through the lawn and leads up to the red wooden door in front of the house. The house itself is painted an off-white color and seems to be well cared for. A long asphalt driveway leads up to a two car garage that is painted to match the house. The windows to the house are covered by a white curtain.

Living Room

The living room is a fairly large room. While it does not lend itself to sumptuous creature comforts it is not an unwelcoming little abode, but the owner of these lodgings is not frivolous with unnecessary decoration. The west side of the room contains the dining area, which has a simple table surrounded by three chairs.

Wall to wall carpeting covers the floor in a wash of bland and institutional off-white. The frugality again shines through with the hunter green sofa and two armchairs that set off a low cherry-stained coffee table. There is a large television next to a stereo system in the far eastern corner of the room. Floor lamps and the occasional table lamp account for light at night. A couple of theater posters decorate the otherwise bare walls, but wooden bookcases take up the vast majority of wall space.

Unlike the rest of the furniture, the shelving units are of high quality mahogany. With glass doors, they proudly display their wares. The books range over a variety of topics, and over several languages, from plays and theater history to poetry and classical and juvenile literature. Rather than packed in tightly from end to end the books have plenty of room to breathe. Two doors lie to the north and to the east, leading off to the bedroom and the other to bathroom.

Garage

The garage is a large enough to fit in two full size cars. Along the back wall, across from the duel garage doors is a long work bench with various parts and tools scattered over it. On the wall is a wooden board filled with various large tools hanging from hooks. To the left of the doors is a large shelf filled with various car parts in various stages of use. To the right of the doors is another large shelf with various gardening tools.

Nicolas' Room

The bedroom is fairly large compared to the standard bedroom. The walls are covered with a light wooden panels and the floor is covered by a dark red carpet. A single light overhead provides ample lighting for the entire room. Several pieces of abstract art by well known artists hang on the walls as well as several reprint paintings by Vincent van Gogh. In the center of the east wall is a king sized canopy bed with black silk fabric that hangs down to the floor. In the center of the room is a ceiling fan with a light to provide ample lighting to the room as well as circulate the air.

In the center of the floor is a large oriental rug with intricate designs. Across from the bed is an oak dresser with a flat screen television that hangs above it. Above the dresser is a flat-screen television that hangs on the wall and a large, expensive-looking stereo stands to one side of it and a bookshelf filled with various books stands on the other. A large window is placed in the south wall that provides a stunning view of the town, covered by red velvet curtains. Across from the window is a door that leads into a walk-in closet and another that leads into the master bathroom.
